The Hyundai rolled onto its passenger side with damage to the driver's side and witnesses on the scene said an older man was extricated from it.

Cracks were visible on the driver's side of the Nissan's front windshield as well as damage to the front end.

The woman driving the Nisssan appeared to have a head wound when she exited her vehicle after the crash, bystanders said.

The extent of the injuries is not yet know.

Sudbury police spokesperson Sarah Kaelas told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an update Thursday the collision is "still under investigation and charges have not yet been laid."

Kaelas said there have been 89 seatbelt-related charges laid in the city under the Highway Traffic Act since 2018.

In the last six years, 2022 had the highest number of seatbelt-related offences with 19 charges.
