North Bay man charged with trafficking, weapons offences

Police in North Bay have seized $12,000 in drugs believed to be cocaine, fentanyl and heroin, along with weapons, cash and bear mace.

As a result, a 41-year-old man is charged with several offences.

He was arrested on an outstanding warrant outside of a convenience store on O’Brien Street on Dec. 19, police said in a news release Tuesday.

"Police conducted a search incident to arrest of the accused and located illegal drugs and a weapon," police said.

A search uncovered drugs believed to be 75 grams of cocaine, five grams of fentanyl and two grams of heroin. Two knives, a can of bear mace, cash and drug trafficking equipment were also found.

Charges include trafficking, weapons possession and two counts of failing to comply with probation orders.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
