Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged two people from Kirkland Lake in a home invasion.

Police say it happened Saturday, July 27 at a home on Prospect Avenue in Kirkland Lake.

An investigation revealed that two people allegedly forced their way into a home before confronting and assaulting the occupant. The victim did not sustain any injuries in the attack.

Now, two local men in their 20s are facing several charges in connection to the incident:

  • Assault
  • Break and enter
  • Failing to comply with probation order

One of the men, 25, has also been charged with damaging or destroying property and possession of ecstasy.  He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on July 31.

The 22-year-old was released and is scheduled to appear in court on August 8.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
