Medical emergency at Flour Mill apartment leads Sudbury police to big drug bust
A 27-year-old southern Ontario man was placed under arrest after experiencing a medical emergency at an apartment on Bruce Avenue in the Flour Mill area of Greater Sudbury.

While paramedics were providing medical assistance to the man on Friday, they found a firearm on him, so they exited the unit and called police, Greater Sudbury Police Service said in an update.
Officers arrived at the Balmoral Apartments at 720 Bruce Avenue shortly after 4:15 p.m. March 29.
"(Police) located a loaded Glock .45 calibre semi-automatic handgun with an extended capacity magazine," police said.
After the man was cleared by paramedics, he was arrested and charged with six firearm-related offences as well as drug trafficking.
He was also found to be wanted down south after failing to appear in court on an unrelated mischief charge.
"While inside the residential unit, detectives located a substantial quantity of illicit drugs in plain sight," police said.
As a result of the investigation, police obtained a warrant and searched the residence.
"Located during the search was 121.9 g of suspected fentanyl, 74.2 g of suspected cocaine," said police.
"Along with $3,995 in Canadian currency."
Police said they estimate the street value of the drugs seized to be $44,000.
As a result of the search, a 51-year-old local woman is charged with two counts of drug trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime.
The man was held in custody and attended court over the weekend while the woman was released and is scheduled to appear in court on May 1.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
Last year, GSPS tried to address problems in the troubled part of the city through a combination of enforcement and community outreach – resulting in 57 charges being laid and a nearby housing complex is currently the currently the subject of a fatal arson trial.
