Sudbury police looking for driver who fled Chelmsford crash that sent one to hospital
Sudbury police are asking for help to identify a man that fled the scene of a crash on Regional Road 35 that sent another man to hospital early Friday morning.
It happened just after 5 a.m. on Chelmsford's main thoroughfare at Elizabeth Street and RR35, police said in a news release.
The crash closed the westbound lanes for more than an hour.
"Information provided was that there were two vehicles involved in the collision and one of the drivers had already fled the scene as the vehicle was found unoccupied," police said. "The driver of the second vehicle, a 32-year- old man, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries as a result of the incident."
Now, officers are looking for the driver of a 2021 bronze coloured Hyundai Santa Fe. They do not have a description of the suspect yet.
"The investigation into the collision is ongoing and anyone with information related to this incident or the driver of the involved vehicle is asked to contact us at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477," police said.
No word on if any charges are pending.
