Sudbury police lay 16 charges in off-road vehicle safety blitz
After receiving complaints about off-road vehicles, police in Greater Sudbury laid more than a dozen charges in a recent safety blitz.

"You've been reporting and we've been listening," Sudbury police said in a social media post Wednesday.
"Over the weekend, our rural community response unit conducted an off-road vehicle (ORV) safety blitz in Garson, Hanmer and Val Caron."
During the blitz, officers spoke to 76 off-roaders, stopped 43 vehicles and gave 17 verbal warnings.
In all, 16 charges were laid.

Sudbury police shared a photo on social media showing a red and white dirt bike leaning up against the bed of a tow truck.
Off-road vehicle riders must ensure the vehicle is registered, displays a licence plate, is insured under a motor vehicle liability policy and is used on approved roads according to local bylaws.
Anyone with concerns about off-road vehicles being driven unsafely or being driven on unauthorized roads is asked to report it online to police.
"Indicate the location, time of day and how often it occurs," police said about making a report.
