SUDBURY -- A man was killed and a woman was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after the two Sudbury motorcyclists were involved in a crash in New Tecumseth on Monday.
Emergency crews were called to the three-vehicle crash on Tottenham Road at the 8th Line south of Barrie.
Gaetan Guilmette, 69, of Greater Sudbury, was driving one of the motorcycles and was pronounced dead at the scene.
"A Nissan Pathfinder, which was travelling southbound on Tottenham Road, and two motorcycles were involved in a collision within the intersection at the 8th Line. A group of three motorcycles were travelling together northbound when two of them became involved in the collision with the Nissan," said OPP in a news release.
Police said a 53-year-old female, also of Greater Sudbury, was driving the second motorcycle involved in the crash and was taken to a Toronto area hospital by an Ornge helicopter. She remains in hospital, but police have not released her name.
"The driver of the Nissan, a 53-year-old female, was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries," said police. "The driver of the third motorcycle was not involved in the collision."
The road has been reopened.
