SUDBURY -- A 25-year-old Sudbury man has been charged with attempted murder following an early-morning incident Wednesday on Ferndale Avenue.
Police responded to a call about a disturbance involving two people.
"Patrol officers arrived on scene and through investigation it was determined that a serious assault had taken place," police said in a news release.
The victim, a 44-year-old man, was taken to Health Sciences North with serious injuries and remains in hospital. The two individuals are known to each other, police said.
The suspect was arrested just after 10:30 a.m. by members of police patrol operations and the criminal investigation division and charged with attempted murder.
He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Thursday.
"Additional charges may be pending," police said. "At this time there is no threat to the public."
