“(On) May 16, 2024, Nipissing West OPP stopped a vehicle traveling 155km/h in a posted 100km/h zone on Highway 69, south of Sudbury,” Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said on social media.
As a result of the traffic stop a 27-year-old driver from Greater Sudbury has been charged with stunt driving and driving without insurance.
In addition to the charges the accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle involved was impounded for 14 days.

None of the allegations has been proven in court.
Last summer, OPP officials in northern Ontario said following a pause during the pandemic stunt driving in the region is again on the rise.
“Drive safe and slow down,” said police.
