Sudbury council votes to reprimand Councillor Robert Kirwan
GREATER SUDBURY -- Sudbury City Councillor Robert Kirwan is being officially reprimanded at the request of the city's Integrity Commissioner.
City council voted unanimously Tuesday night in support of the reprimand.
Calling the councillor "a disruption to the community," the Integrity Commissioner's report cites a number of violations of the city's code of conduct.
Robert Swayze says Kirwan "repeatedly abused and harassed members of the public," in nine separate complaints.
Swayze says several of the complaints were related to comments made on Kirwan's Valley East Facebook page.
Councillor Kirwan issued an apology at Tuesday night's council meeting.
