Hwy. 11 near North Bay reopens after serious crash

Highway 11 has reopened after a serious two-vehicle crash near Marten River on Saturday.

A collision had closed Highway 11 between the Bay Truck Stop in North Bay and Highway 64 in Marten River, according to an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) tweet Saturday afternoon.

The crash occurred between two passenger vehicles near Marten River – approximately 40 km north of North Bay – at about 11:45 a.m.

Members of North Bay OPP along with the District of Nipissing Paramedic Services responded to the collision.

“OPP on (the) scene,” said police on X.

“OPP's Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team has been deployed to assist with the ongoing investigation,” said police in a news release Saturday afternoon.

“The closure is expected to remain in place for an extended period as investigators work at the scene.”

No detours were available during the closure and the OPP urge motorists to call 511 or visit the Ministry of Transportation 511 Traveller Information Service website for the latest traffic updates.

No details on the cause of the collision, if any charges are pending or the extent of any injuries have been released by police.
