In Gogama, south of Timmins, it appears that the town's volunteer firefighters will not be resigning as of December 1st after all.
According to a post on the fire department's Facebook page Thursday night, there's an agreement with the Ontario Fire Marshal's office and that fire services will continue.
The Local Services Board says it did meet with the OFM on Wednesday, but says it has not received word that the firefighters will be staying on the job.
Meanwhile, Fire Chief Mike Benson says Deputy Chief Christine Cloutier will be taking over.
He says he's asked the firefighters to continue for the time being.
