Sault murder suspect arrested
In an update to a story CTV News has been covering this week, the suspect in the Albert Street West homicide investigation in the Sault has been arrested Saturday, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service said in a news release.
Officers were responding to an unrelated call in the 0-100 block of Grandview Avenue around 3 a.m. when they located the accused.
“They were arrested on the strength of a warrant for second degree murder, and other offences,” said police.
27-year-old Jared Scott is accused of second-degree murder and a list of firearms-related charges in connection with a fatal shooting at an apartment building on Albert Street West Wednesday morning.

Following his arrest, Scott was charged with second degree murder, possession of dangerous weapons, possession of a loaded firearm, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing its possession was unauthorized, failing to comply with an undertaking and failing to comply with conditions of a judicial release order.
None of the allegations has been proven in court.
The investigation is ongoing.
