Sault man arrested after security guard kicked in the head over the weekend, police say

A 36-year-old Sault man was arrested Christmas Eve following an incident over the weekend.

Sault police advised in a news release that the incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 22 in the 700 block of Wellington Street West.

“An investigation revealed the accused had kicked a security officer in the head when asked to leave the property,” said police.

“The victim sustained minor physical injuries.”

Police obtained a warrant for the suspect’s arrest.

On Wednesday morning, 911 operators received a report of an unwanted person in the 700 block of Great Northern Road.

 “Officers were dispatched to the area,” said police.

“Upon arrival, officers located and arrested the accused on the strength of a warrant.”

The accused was charged with assault and released on an undertaking with a court date of Feb. 24, 2025.

None of the accusations has been proven in court.
