What started out as a routine traffic stop by Ontario Provincial Police for speeding, ended with a big drug bust.

An OPP officer patrolling Highway 400 in McDougall Township, near Parry Sound, pulled a speeding vehicle over around 9 pm on Sunday, March 24.

Police say an investigation led to the seizure of approximately $100,000 of suspected cocaine and carfentanil and $1,600 in cash.

Now, a 23-year-old Hamilton man and a 24-year-old man from St. Catherines are facing several drug possession and trafficking charges.

Both men were arrested and will appear in bail court later this week.
