Timmins police say a recent drug investigation in the city has resulted in a significant seizure of cocaine, methamphetamine tablets, other drug paraphernalia, weapons, and cash.

Police say fix people, including three men and two women aged 28 to 44, were arrested and charged Tuesday, March 19 after an extensive drug investigation led to the execution of search warrants at three residences.

The drug busts at homes on Birch Street North, Birch Street South, and Kimberley Avenue led to the seizure of the following items:

  • Nearly $200,000 in cocaine and methamphetamine tablets
  • $45,000 cash
  • 16 gauge shotgun and ammunition
  • A prohibited weapon
  • Assorted drug paraphernalia (scales and packing materials)

A sixth person, a 37-year-old local woman, was arrested and charged Monday, March 25 in relation to this investigation.

All of the accused were released on bail and will return to court in April to answer to the charges.
