Police investigate after woman found dead in northwestern Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police’s northwest crime unit and Treaty Three Police are investigating a suspicious death in Sabaskong Bay (Ojibways of Onigaming) First Nation.

They are also looking for a man believed to have been with the woman earlier in the day,

Police were called around 1: 30 p.m. Aug. 7 to a home on Anishinaabe Road, where a woman was located deceased.

“A post-mortem examination will be conducted at the Centre of Forensic Sciences in Toronto to confirm the identity of the victim and the cause of death,” police said in a news release Wednesday.

“Investigators do not believe there is an imminent threat to public safety but officers are currently looking for a male, known to be at the home earlier that day.”

The investigation is being led by the Treaty Three Police and the OPP, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
