One child taken to hospital after Sudbury school bus rear ended
One child has been taken to hospital after a school bus was rear-ended on Municipal Road 35 east of Azilda in Greater Sudbury on Wednesday morning.
The bus headed carrying 23 secondary students was hit around 7:42 a.m., bus services executive director told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca in an email.
Sudbury firefighters were called to the scene around 8:15 a.m., deputy fire chief Jesse Oshell told CTV News in a phone interview.
Police were called to the collision on Elm Street near Fire Route O around 8:45 a.m. to direct traffic, police spokesperson Kaitlyn Dunn told CTV News in an email.
Paramedics were on site to assess students and one was taken to hospital for observation, Boucher said.
The precautionary measure was done at the request of some of the parents, Dunn and Oshell said.
"Another student was transported to hospital for a medical concern that was not related to the collision," Boucher added.
No word on what cause the crash as the investigation is ongoing.

"Another bus transported the students to school after paramedics completed their assessments," Boucher said.
