Police seized drugs, $70,000 and a large gold chain in a drug trafficking bust earlier this month in Thunder Bay.

Two people from the Halifax area, ages 37 and 18, have been charged as a result.

The Ontario Provincial Police-led joint forces guns and gangs enforcement team, along with support from other police forces including the RCMP, raided a residence on South Creek Square in the city Oct. 10.

Police seized the cash, drugs believed to be five grams of cocaine and three oxy tablets, a digital scale, three cellphones, the gold chain, a gold bracelet and a luxury watch.

The suspects from Halifax and Dartmouth are each charged with two counts of drug trafficking and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime.

The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on Nov. 19.

The OPP said anyone with any information about illegal firearms or the possession, manufacturing or trafficking of illicit drugs should contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online.
