On Jan. 26, Cassie Falardeau and five others who work at Bermuda Tan found out they won $145,098 in the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation January 50-50 draw.
After seeing multiple missed calls from the hospital on her phone, she said she never would have thought the news was so good, the foundation said on social media.
The six women have been playing the 50-50 as a group for about three years "and never expected the rays of good luck to shine down on them."
"When Cassie called her co-workers to share the information, her boss had to hand the phone off to another employee because she couldn’t believe what she was hearing," the hospital foundation said.
Each group member received $24,183 and some plan to use it for bills or saving for retirement.
"For some, this money could not have come at a better time as it has been a very challenging couple of months," the hospital said.
"This group definitely understands the importance of having up-to-date equipment in the Hospital and that’s one of the reasons why they play!"

Upon receiving the call about the good news, she said, "One second, I need to sit down" the foundation said in a news release.
"She shared that her family has had recent experiences with care at Sault Area Hospital and she’s been supporting SAHF’s 50/50 draws for a long time," the foundation said.
"We're very grateful to the Sault Area Hospital for everything they do," Martin is quoted as saying in the news release.
On Jan. 17, Tammy Parr won the $10,000 early bird draw.
The next SAHF 50-50 draw is on Feb. 29 and with more than 27 days to go, the jackpot is currently at $2,152.
Another $10,000 early bird prize is up for grabs this month and will be given out on Valentine's Day.
The hospital 50/50 lotteries have grown in popularity since they began several years ago. Half of the ticket proceeds go to the hospital to purchase much-needed equipment, while the other half is received by the winner of the draw.
