Snow squall warning in the Sault, heaviest snowfall expected tonight
Sault Ste. Marie's run of severe winter weather will continue Tuesday, with Environment Canada issuing another snow squall warning.
"Locally heavy snowfall with accumulations near 30 cm," the warning said.

"Peak snowfall rates of two to five centimetres per hour. Very poor visibility at times in heavy snow Power outages possible due to the heavy wet nature of the snow."
The warning will continue through Wednesday night, with the heaviest snowfall expected tonight.
"Lake effect snow squalls off Lake Superior have moved into the area, mainly north of Sault Ste. Marie," the warning said.
"These snow squalls are expected to move north out of the area this afternoon. However, snow squalls off Lake Michigan will move in this evening as a low-pressure system moves across Lake Superior, enhancing snowfall amounts."
The good news is that the snow squalls will sweep south tomorrow, moving out of the area Wednesday night.

"Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve," Environment Canada said.
"If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and mobile phone."
