A decision by a North Bay school board is being looked into by the Ontario Ombudsman.
The ombudsman is investigating the Near North District School Board's decision to close Widdifield Secondary School in North Bay.
Rather than follow the accommodation review committee recommendation to close another high school in the city, Chippewa Secondary School, the board chose Widdifield for the closure.
The school board confirms it has been notified about the ombudsman review, but says it will not be commenting on the matter.
