The Dryden detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a fatal collision involving a commercial vehicle and a passenger vehicle.

Someone in the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, the OPP said. The crash took place June 26 around 9:30 p.m. on Highway 17 near Dryden.

“A post-mortem examination will be conducted at the Centre of Forensic Sciences to determine the identity of the deceased,” police said in a news release Thursday evening.

“The occupants of the CMV sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.”

The OPP North West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team and OPP Collision re-constructionists are helping with the ongoing investigation.
