CTV News has learned that 19 people have been laid off in the north region related to changes to the new Ontario Autism Program.
Child and Community Resources confirm the cuts, but say resources will still be directed to front-line service to ensure children currently receiving service experience no disruption.
The organization serves the Algoma, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Manitoulin, Kenora and Rainy River districts.
It’s publically funded to through various government sources.
