Enivornment Canada has issued a Heat warning for:

  • Chapleau - Gogama
  • Elliot Lake - Ranger Lake     
  • Greater Sudbury and vicinity     
  • Kapuskasing - Hearst  
  • Kirkland Lake - New Liskeard - Temagami    
  • Manitoulin - Blind River - Killarney   
  • North Bay - West Nipissing      
  • Sault Ste. Marie - Superior East
  • Timmins - Cochrane

The heat will continue through Thursday July 5th.

Daytime temperatures will be near 30 degrees, with the humidex values in the mid 30’s. Low temperatures overnight will be in the high teens to low twenties providing little relief from the heat. Temperatures near the lake shores will be slightly cooler.

There is a cool down expected by Friday with a passing cold front.

Extreme heat affects everyone but the risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.

Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
