Happy ending for dog featured on Take Me Home Tuesday

In an effort to help pets at the Sudbury SPCA shelter get adopted, CTV News Northern Ontario and its sister radio station Pure Country 91.7 features a different pet each Tuesday. And last week's pup made an instant connection with one of the staff and now has a new home.

'Little Buddy', a five-year-old male dog that had been at the facility for about a month made quite an impression on morning radio show co-host Josh Corbett.

"We've always held off because you know, you've got to make sure you're financially sound for it, got to make sure you have the space, that it'll be a good fit and everything like that," Corbett said on-air Monday morning.

It was love at first sight and after discussing it with his girlfriend, they decided to adopt him.

"We've named him Toby and he's going to be living with us from now on. He's going to be a permanent member of our family," Corbett said.

Binns told CTV News the shelter usually gives animals new names when they come in so they can get a "fresh start," so they are not usually attached to those names.

The facility at College Boreal on Lasalle Boulevard has several cats, puppies and dogs looking for homes right now. Find them here
