It's a federal election year in Canada and the parade of politicians is about to ramp up.

Candidates in all parties will be courting votes in communities across the country.

With that, the leader of the Green Party of Canada, Elizabeth May, is visiting Sudbury Tuesday, August 20 on her Community Matters Tour.

She is one of only two MPs from her party elected to Parliament, both are from British Columbia.

May is touring Sudbury's NORCAT Skills Training Centre during the day and will be holding a community meeting at the McEwen School of Architecture Tuesday evening.

The community meeting is hosted by local Green Party candidate Bill Crumplin from 7 – 8:30 p.m. and will discuss issues of concern with members of the community.

CTV Northern Ontario's Ian Campbell will have more details.
