SUDBURY -- Police in the Sault Ste. Marie area arrested and charged four individuals after drugs and a handgun were seized during a search warrant.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the drugs and handgun were found as part of a controlled drugs and substances act search warrant conducted Jan. 8 at approximately 8 a.m. at a home on Chicora Street in Sault Ste. Marie.
Officers seized an unspecified quantity of drugs, which they suspected to be cocaine and fentanyl, along with the loaded semi-automatic handgun.
A 25-year-old from MacDonald Meredith and Aberdeen Township and a 23-year-old from Sudbury are both facing charges and expected to appear in court on Feb. 15.
In addition, a 42-year-old from Sault Ste. Marie and a 25-year-old form Toronto are also facing numerous charges in connection to the seizure. They are expected in court appeared in court on Jan. 9.
The search warrant was conducted by the OPP's Community Street Crime Unit and Canine Unit along with the help of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Emergency Service Unit.
