The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has issued a flood warning for the Sault Ste. Marie District.

Rain is forecast to continue in the area Thursday and Friday, bringing an additional 15 mm of water into area water systems.

The temperature will remain seasonal and continue to melt the remaining snow pack.

People in the Goulais River watershed are advised that some areas within the flood plain are at critical levels.

Low lying areas within the Sault Ste. Marie district are now near flood critical levels.

Residents should keep a close watch on water and weather conditions, regularly check for updated messages and stay away from fast-moving rivers and streams.
