Ontario Finance Minister and Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli speaks at a North Bay Chamber of Commerce Friday morning.

Protestors upset with the Ford government’s budget were waiting out in front of the building on Main Street with signs before his arrival.

Fedeli began his speech by attacking the previous Liberal government and then turned his attention to the protestors outside saying “teachers’ unions are poisoning the environment” and putting fear in the minds of students and teachers.

He maintains that no teachers will lose their jobs and says education unions continue to ‘fear monger.’

The Finance Minister touched on the dental service included in the newest provincial budget saying $90 million will be spent on helping 100,000 low income people with dental services.

Another priority he touched on is cutting red tape, stating the Ontario Progressive Conservatives have a goal of cutting red tape by 25% by 2020.

He says he continues to look at rail improvement for the north, including infrastructure, and he is looking at a natural gas expansion very soon.
