A 51-year-old has died following a snowmobile crash Friday on Wilson Lake Road near the ‘A’ snowmobile trail in Temagami, under 100 km north of North Bay, provincial police say.

On Feb. 23 at about 4:30 p.m., officers from the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to what was described as a serious collision, said police in a news release Saturday.

“The operator of a motorized snow vehicle lost control and struck a tree,” said the OPP.

“The 51-year-old person was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Police said the crash is still under investigation and no details have been released on the cause of the incident.
