SUDBURY -- A hardware store in Hanmer was closed Sunday as staff scrubbed the store after an employee tested positive for COVID.
"We want to inform you that one of our employees tested positive for COVID-19," said a post on the Hanmer Home Hardware Facebook page Sunday morning. "The employee was last in the store on Nov. 6."
The worker was tested on Nov. 6 and received a positive result on Nov. 8.
"The employee was not experiencing symptoms while at the store and is now self-isolating," the post said.
Staff disinfected the store Sunday, and it was open for business Monday morning.
"As required by Ontario Health Services, any team member in direct contact with the infected individual is following OHS guidelines," the post said.
"The health and safety of our employees and our local community is paramount, and we remain committed to following all health and safety guidelines set out by Ontario Health Services, including wearing masks, physical distancing, proper hand hygiene and enhanced cleaning protocols.
"We will follow up with more information as it becomes available. We thank you for your support and understanding as we work through this process."
