Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a 52-year-old man in connection to a credit card theft from an Elliot Lake bank machine.

A report was made to police after a credit card got stuck in a bank machine while trying to make a transaction. The card was later stolen by the next person to use the machine, who then fraudulently used it at several retail stores in the area.

Video surveillance from the stores and bank were used to identify the person using the card.

The investigation led to the location and arrest of the man recognized by police in the videos.

He is charged with theft under $5,000 and is scheduled to appear in an Elliot Lake court on January 8th.
