Officers investigating a domestic dispute at a home in northeastern Ontario early Monday morning seized multiple guns, ammunition and a large quantity of drugs.

The call came in to the Temiskaming detachment shortly after 5 a.m. Dec. 11, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Friday.

Officers were dispatched to a home on Highway 11 in Evanturel Township, near Englehart, where they saw the guns and drugs.

A search was later executed with the help of the crime unit, emergency response team, canine unit and Kirkland Lake community street crime unit.

"During the investigation, police seized multiple firearms, ammunition, drugs suspected to be cannabis and methamphetamine along with a quantity of Canadian currency," OPP said.

"The total value of the seizure was estimated to be $132,000."

As a result, a 28-year-old local resident has been charged with drug trafficking, several weapons-related offences and having proceeds of property obtained by crime more than $5,000.

"The accused has been held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury," police said.
