A Greater Sudbury business owner has lost his workshop and thousands of dollars’ worth of tools and cedar, after an early Friday morning fire.
Krucker Saunas, located in Capreol, was engulfed in flames at around 2 a.m.
The fire caused $750,000 worth of damage.
“We have all kinds of power tools, there was some welding equipment, pretty much everything for our business,” said Nicholas Krucker, Krucker Saunas owners.
“There is a long list of things.”
Krucker admits he has no insurance.
"We have only been working out of here for three weeks, and we are getting our insurance, but not having that damaged us a lot.”
An investigator with the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal was on scene Friday; looking for the cause.
“The fire originated in the southwest corner of the building,” said James Allen. Ontario Fire Marshal investigator.
After examining the scene Allen told CTV the fire is not suspicious.
Crews got the call just after 2 a.m. after a passerby noticed the fire.
“About 20-25 firefighters responded from five different stations, from Capreol, the valley, New Sudbury and the aerial device from downtown,” said Platoon chief Phil Langis, Greater Sudbury Fire Services.
Crews managed to save a good portion of the commercial building including offices and a separate workshop.
Krucker wasn't so lucky, but is looking at the positive and planning to move forward.
“Nobody was hurt, it's really just tool and wood, and the end of the day, everyone is fine,” he said.
“We are just going to move forward. We are not gonna let this slow us down.”
A resilient outlook, Krucker said he learned from his hard working parents.
