A charity hockey game in support of a Timmins girl with a rare genetic disorder has raised thousands of dollars.

The game was organized by the Timmins Flyers hockey team and they took on a team comprised of police officers and firefighters.

It happened last week and $13,000 from donations, a silent auction, and 50/50 tickets was collected and given to Alyssa McGaghran’s family to help with the costs associated with travelling for medical treatment.

McGaghran suffers with tuberous sclerosis complex.

She’s been to Sick Kids in Toronto more than 40 times.

She’s in her second year at St. Dominique School.
