SAULT STE. MARIE -- The City of Sault Ste. Marie is hosting a conference call Thursday morning, to find the best ways to support local businesses in wake of COVID-19.
According to a news release, the purpose of the call is to relay information about existing supports, understand the needs and concerns of local businesses and to explore other support opportunities.
The first conference call will take place March 19 at 9:15 a.m.
It is recommended that people access the call through their computer/tablet/device. Go to Webex.com, click the "join" button and enter the access code 792 394 662 and use the password “city”. Otherwise, people can dial the toll numbers 416-216-5643 or 613-714-9906.
“While the situation is changing each day, the city would like to open lines of communication with local businesses and ensure that the latest business support resources and support offerings are well understood,” said Tom Vair, Deputy CAO, Community Development and Enterprise Services. “We also look to receive input and ideas from businesses with effective ways to assist them and to support one another during these difficult times.”
This is a developing story, more information to come.
