SUDBURY -- Charges are pending in the collision, Sault Ste. Marie Police said in a news release Thursday.
"A grey SUV, driven by a 17-year-old male, was driving westbound on Second Line West," the release said. "The motorcycle, driven by a 19-year-old male, was driving eastbound on Second Line West. The initial investigation revealed the driver of the SUV turned into a private driveway in the 1300 block of Second Line West, into the path of the motorcycle."
The driver of the motorcycle remains in hospital with serious injuries.
"The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending," the release said.

A man driving a motorcycle was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon when he collided with an SUV in Sault Ste. Marie.
Police say the received the call at 4 p.m. about a crash at the intersection of Second Line West and Leighs Bay Road.
"The man driving the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital," police said in a news release.
Second Line West at Leighs Bay Road is currently closed as officers investigate the collision. Residents are asked avoid the area at this time.
