Sudbury Police say the man who was shot during an altercation with officers on Sunday night at the downtown bus station is now facing a variety of charges.

Police say the man was armed with knives and tried to break into a transit office. 

A city employee was hurt in an altercation and then when the man rushed the officers he was shot.

He now faces five counts of assault with a weapon, as well as nine other charges. 

He remains in hospital in stable condition.
