Update:

SUDBURY -- Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged the 74-year-old driver involved in the fiery crash off Highway 69 south on Wednesday with careless driving.

Officers arrived on the scene within minutes and found the lone occupant still inside the vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames.

The three officers used fire extinguishers from the trunks of their cruisers to subdue the flames enough to get teh driver out of the burning vehicle.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver missed the curve of the ramp, struck the guard rail, and rolled over into the bush, according to police.

The driver, from Sudbury, was transported to hospital by paramedics while Sudbury Fire extinguished the fire.

OPP Staff Sergeant Kevin Webb credits the officers with the man's survival.

"Didn’t appear to be any attempt for the individual to get out of the vehicle due to some injuries, and if the officers hadn’t arrived on scene and acted quickly, not only to get to the fire and get him out, but to grab the equipment they needed to bring the fire down enough that they could get in. He probably would not have survived," said Webb.
