A 32-year-old Sudbury man was arrested and charged Wednesday, February 13 with multiple child pornography related offences.
Greater Sudbury Police Service’s Cyber Crime Unit says it identified Callam Rodya, a reporter at CTV, who was allegedly downloading child pornography using a file sharing site between October 2018 and February 2019.
Police executed a search warrant February 13 at a local residence and allegedly located evidence on multiple computers, as well as a small baggy suspected to contain cocaine.
As a result of the investigation, Rodya has been charged with several counts of possession, access, and making available child pornography, as well as one count of possessing a controlled substance.
He attended a bail hearing Thursday and was released with a requirement that he must comply with several conditions including:
- Not attend any schools, playgrounds, parks, arenas or daycares where children are present
- Not to be in the company of children under the age of 18 unless under direct supervision
- Not to possess any computer device capable of accessing the internet
Rodya is currently suspended from employment at CTV.
