Timmins police were showing off the fruits of their labours on Friday, in the form of a big drug seizure.
Police officials said officers raided a residence last week and seized about 500 methamphetamine tablets, worth more than $5,000.
Officers also seized $6,000 in cash.
The Timmins Police Service said the department is making progress in the ongoing battle against serious drugs into the city.
“In 2015, the drug unit seized approximately $250,000 worth of methamphetamines,” said Kate Cantin, Timmins Police Service communications coordinator.
“In 2016, they seized about $250,000 worth of methamphetamines. That's not to say that this is indicates a trend, but it is a drug that is seized often by our drug unit."
The following people are facing charges:
Justin Sutherland, 33, of Constance Lake, ON, faces charges of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, Possession of Property obtained by crime, and Breach of Probation.
Randy Friday, 32, of Kapuskasing, ON, faces a charge of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Natasha Clouatre, 33, of Timmins faces charges of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, and Possession of property obtained by crime.
