The Ontario Provincial Police is investigating the second break and enter in as many weeks at a methadone clinic in Kirkland Lake.

Police officials said an unspecified quantity of methadone was stolen from the Second Street based clinic at some point between Monday at 10 p.m. and Tuesday at 9 a.m.

The Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) prohibits anyone from possessing any prescribed medication without a prescription. It is a criminal offence to offer or sell a prescribed medication to another person. Purchasing another person's prescribed drugs is also illegal.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority. Should someone wish to remain anonymous, they can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
