Environment Canada has issued special weather statements for areas in our region.

Ice pellets and freezing rain is possible Tuesday night through Wednesday in Timmins. A few centimetres of ice pellets may accumulate, before changing to patchy freezing rain or rain by Wednesday night.

For Kapuskasing - Hearst - Smooth Rock Falls, a significant winter storm is expected to move into the region with a wintry mix of snow, ice pellets and freezing rain likely.

Some areas may see up to 5 centimetres of snow and ice pellets before changing to more significant freezing rain Wednesday night.

Wawa - White River – Pukaskwa is expected to be hit with freezing rain. Environment Canada said a long-lasting period of freezing rain resulting in ice accumulation is expected Tuesday.

An icy mix of freezing rain and ice pellets is expected to develop Tuesday night, into Wednesday.

Environment Canada warns surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous.
