Video of Sudbury bunny brawl gains popularity online
In the latest amusing wildlife video out of northern Ontario, two Sudbury radio hosts answer the call for commentary.
Pure Country Sudbury morning show co-host Bryan Cooper recorded a video of what appears to be two white rabbits fighting in the middle of a street.
"Coop," as he is known by his Sudbury audience, said he came upon the pair of bunnies around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday in the New Sudbury area.
He posted the video Thursday morning on the radio station's Facebook page and less than 36 hours later, it had more than 66,000 views.
Many people urged him and his co-host, Josh Corbett, to provide commentary to the video of the brawl, so they obliged. That video was posted Friday morning and has received more than 1,700 views.
The colour of a snowshoe hare's fur changes with the seasons, from grey-brown in the summer to white in winter, the Canadian Wildlife Federation said.
Rabbits fight for various reasons: to show dominance, bond, and it is sometimes part of the mating process.
Males will fight for the right to breed. Breeding season for these animals begins mid-March.
