(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) On November 24, 2018 shortly before 9:00 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police stopped a vehicle on Paget Street, in the City of Temiskaming Shores.
Further investigation revealed that the driver did not have a valid drivers licence and was wanted on outstanding warrants.
The 37-year-old male of Armstrong Township was placed under arrest and a quantity of suspected methamphetamine pills, dilaudid, crystal meth and oxycodone were seized.
He has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine - contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - other drugs - contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (x 2 counts) - Opioid (other than heroin) - contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA,
- Possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA,
- Fail to comply with probation order, (x 2 counts), contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC),
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC, and
- Driving while under suspension, (x 2 counts), contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The accused was held for bail and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice on November 25, 2018.
