SUDBURY -- The Porcupine Health Unit has confirmed six new cases of COVID-19.
According to health officials, two boys under the age of 10 have tested positive.
A female in her 30's and a male in his 40's are also positive for COVID19. These four individuals reside outside of the City of Timmins and are currently recovering in self-isolation.
Two others are currently admitted to hospital in Timmins with COVID-19, including a female in her 60's and another female in her 70's. Health officials are investigating where these two cases were exposed to the virus.
This brings the total case count in the Porcupine Health Unit coverage area to 18.
Health officials say COVID-19 is circulating in the area, and that it’s important to take measures to prevent the spread.
