Transport knocks out power to hundreds in downtown North Bay

Hundreds at one point were left without power after a truck collided with a pole near the corner of McIntyre and Fisher Streets late Tuesday evening.

It happened around the dinner hour impacting almost 700 customers.

Power was knocked out in the downtown area affecting parts of Regina, John, Wyld, Oak and Fisher Streets.

North Bay Hydro said the broken pole has since been isolated and power restored to the surrounding area.

Power, however, will remain out on parts of McIntyre, Fisher and Regina Streets while crews replace the pole.

According to a post on 'X,' power is expected to be restored at 2 a.m.
