Timmins police have completed their investigation into a two-vehicle collision which occurred about 8:40 a.m. Friday morning.

Timmins police, fire services and EMS attended the scene at the intersection of Second Avenue and Maple Street South, which was cleared by 9:45 a.m.

“The investigation reveals that the driver of one of the vehicles involved failed to stop at the stop sign that controls the intersection and struck a vehicle that had the right of way,” the Timmins Police Service said in a news release Saturday.

The driver of the vehicle which failed to stop was transported to hospital by EMS for minor injuries.

The 25-year-old male driver has been charged with driving with a suspended licence, disobeying a stop sign as well as a seatbelt related offence as a result of the investigation.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in court on May 25 to answer to the charges.

None of the allegations has been proven in court.
