Thunder Bay murder suspect known to frequent Sudbury

Police in Thunder Bay are looking for two people wanted for second-second degree murder, one of whom has ties to Greater Sudbury.

"Police are continuing to investigate a homicide that occurred last month and have identified a pair of accused individuals," Thunder Bay police said in a news release.

Police are searching for Haratio Shawayahamish, 18, and Landon Achneepineskum, 20.

They are wanted in connection with the death of Ryan Peter Legourrierec, 31, whose remains were discovered the morning of Aug. 30 at Tamarack Place in Thunder Bay.

"The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene," police said.

Both suspects are wanted on arrest warrants for second-degree murder.

"Shawayahamish is known to frequent Sudbury," police said Thursday.

"Anyone with information related to Haratio Shawayahamish's whereabouts is asked to contact police."

If anyone sees them, police say they should be cautious and not approach them.
